Appetizers
These appetizers are what I make when I want something small but full of flavor. The kind of food you serve before dinner, set out with drinks, or enjoy while the rest of the meal comes together. Or, if you are like me, they are perfectly acceptable any time of day 😉. Sometimes a little nibble makes all the difference!
Most of these recipes are inspired by my many years living in France, my French husband and my Latvian roots. Simple bites made with real ingredients and straightforward techniques. This is European home cooking the way I know it.
For some Latvian-inspired appetizers, try this avocado and cottage cheese dip or this chicken liver pâté.
If you are in the mood for some French-style little “aperatif” toasts, these salmon cream cheese toasts or these avocado and shrimp toasts are always favorites. And if you love nuts as much as I do, these very subtly sweet maple nuts tend to disappear very quickly.
Everything here is cooked and tested in my home kitchen and meant to be shared.
